Let Usability Studies Light The Way

The basis of a usability study is pretty simple: If you want to know if your website is easy enough to use, watch some people while they try to use it and note where they run into trouble.  Then fix it, and test it again.

Recent developments with screen recording technology means costs for conducting usability tests have tumbled.  So much so that a usability study should be considered with every website build.  As well as proving that your website works as per the design specified, a study will often quickly settle any internal disputes relating to design.

Every website (old or new) that has some form of usability study carried out on it will see an immediate return on that investment.  For ecommerce websites it can often mean the difference between success and failure.
